Basic Gravy

  • Melt 2 Tbsp butter
  • Whisk in 2 Tbsp flour. Cook for a minute while whisking.
  • Mix in around 2 cups broth. Bring to a boil to thicken.
  • Add salt to taste.


So basically, gravy is flexible. You can use equal parts butter and flour. You can add the liquid a bit at a time and keep adding as it thickens until it is the consistency you want. Use any broth you want. Add some milk or water in addition to broth if you want. Yay gravy!
